2.8.6. Check of an exhaust system

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check is carried out on the cold engine (not less than three hours later after a stop). Check a condition of all details of an exhaust system, beginning from the engine and to terminal section of the muffler. It is best of all to check from the bottom, on the lifted car when unlimited access to all details of system is provided.
2. Check existence on pipes and connections existence of corrosion, mechanical damages, existence of leak of exhaust gases. Be convinced of durability of fastening of details of system and of a normal state of arms and suspension brackets.
3. At the same time examine a condition of the bottom of the car, check existence of corrosion, through openings, the dispersed seams through which exhaust gases can get to salon of the car. Close up all through openings in the body bottom silicone hard putty.
	4. Knocks and other noise can be often caused by details of an exhaust system, especially in places of their fastening. Shake pipes, mufflers, the catalytic converter. If these details come to contact with suspension bracket details, replace elements of fastening of an exhaust system. Surely check integrity of all rubber support of an exhaust system (it is specified by an arrow).
5. Check kind of work of the engine, having examined an internal surface of the pipe leaving terminal section of an exhaust system. It is possible to determine work of various systems of the engine and need of their adjustment by intensity of sazhisty deposits. Existence of a soot, soot or a white raid indicates the need of careful check of the engine, first of all fuel system.
