3.2.23. Adjustment of the mode of idling

GENERAL INFORMATION

Arrangement of a bolt of adjustment of the mode of idling

For an otpuskaniye or an inhaling of a lock-nut use two keys.

Adjustment of the mode of idling for 100% is made faultlessly if the amount of injectable fuel on idling turns is adjusted. This adjustment can be made only by means of special devices. However the general control and temporary adjustment can be made for ensuring start of the engine, following instructions below. Good idling is exposed only at correctly adjusted gaps of valves and the moments of injection. It is necessary to connect the measuring instrument of turns for the diesel engine according to the maintenance instruction of the manufacturer.

Before regulating idling turns, warm the engine up to the working temperature.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Switch off everything consumers of electric energy. The fan too should not turn on. The air filter has to be installed.

2. Start the engine and take readings of number of turns of idling. If it makes more than 700 rpm, check, whether the adjusting lever of the adjusting screw at completely pressed gas pedal concerns. Otherwise adjust idling turns.

3. Weaken a lock-nut of the screw of adjustment of idling in the place shown in drawing (a usual key), and the second key turn an adjusting bolt before receiving the set number of turns of idling. Again tighten a lock-nut.

4. Increase turns and check that after a gas pedal otpuskaniye the engine comes back to idling turns. If it does not occur, length of draft of gas has to be adjusted. The lever of the fuel pump of a high pressure at the released pedal of gas has to rest against the end of an adjusting bolt.
