2. Start the engine, disconnect a vacuum hose and by means of the vacuum gage be convinced that idling depression is absent. Depression has to be on other power setting.

Replacement

Prevention

Works are performed on the cold engine.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Merge liquid from the cooling system (see subsection 2.8.4), disconnect the battery from weight (keep in mind that thus codes of turning on of the radio tape recorder are erased).
2. Weaken collars and remove an air duct.
Disconnect from the gate drive lever a drive cable (see subsection 5.10).
3. Remove a cable arm (if is available) and take aside (it is not necessary to get a cable from an arm).
4. If the car is equipped with automatic transmission, disconnect a cable of a butterfly valve from draft (see subsection 7.2.4) disconnect cable arms from the engine and take aside.
5. Disconnect all vacuum hoses from a chamber of a butterfly valve, previously having applied on them accurate tags.
6. Disconnect the socket of the sensor of an angle of rotation of a butterfly valve.
7. Turn off four bolts of fastening of a chamber of a butterfly valve (are specified by shooters). On some engines it will be required to turn off two bolts and two nuts.
8. Remove from an inlet collector a chamber of a butterfly valve and laying (see rice. The device of a chamber of a butterfly valve and the accompanying details).
9. A soft brush and a cleaner of the carburetor carefully clear all cast surfaces of the case, then blow all channels compressed air.

Prevention

It is forbidden to wash out the sensor of an angle of rotation of a butterfly valve any means. Carefully wipe the sensor pure soft fabric.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Installation is carried out upside-down.
2. Tighten bolts and nuts of the case with the moment specified in subsection 5.1.
3. After completion of works fill in cooling liquid (see subsection 2.8.4).

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the socket of the sensor of an angle of rotation of a butterfly valve. On cars for the State of California on the sensor of an angle of rotation give depression.
2. Between the screw of a butterfly valve and the limiter lay the probe of the set thickness.
3. Measure by an ohmmeter resistance between couples of conclusions specified in the table, laying probes of various thickness.
4. If the measured resistance differs from specified in the table, between the restrictive lever and the screw of a butterfly valve lay the probe 0,7 mm thick (for engines of 1,6 l and 1,8 l) and 0,6 mm (for engines of 1,3 l) and connect an ohmmeter to conclusions of IDL and E2. Release screws of fastening of the sensor and slowly turn the sensor clockwise until the ohmmeter does not show a gap.
5. Tighten screws and by means of probes of the set thickness again check existence of the closed chain between the specified conclusions.

Replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. If adjustment did not possible to achieve the set resistance, remove the sensor and replace (shooters specified screws).
2. Adjust according to item 4.

FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR

Check

See the description of a procedure for test of the pump and pressure of fuel in subsection 5.3.

Replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Execute a decompression of fuel system (see subsection 5.2) and disconnect the battery from weight (keep in mind that radio tape recorder codes will be destroyed).
2. Disconnect a vacuum hose from the regulator.
3. Substitute a metal vessel or the pallet under the return fuel hose.
4. On engines of 1,3 l turn off a bolt of the union of a hose of the return fuel pipe like "banjo", remove washers and disconnect the return fuel pipe from the fuel pressure regulator. On engines 1,6 and 1,8 of l weaken a collar, pull together a collar on a hose and disconnect a hose of the return fuel pipe from the fuel pressure regulator.
5. Turn off bolts of fastening of the regulator of pressure of fuel and remove the regulator from the fuel distributor.

6. Replace a sealing ring and be convinced of correctness of installation of the regulator of pressure (1) upon the distributor (2 – the fuel highway). If the regulator is installed with a distortion, consolidation will be broken.

7. Further installation is carried out upside-down. On engines of 1,3 l replace copper washers from each party of the union.

THE CONTROL AIR VALVE OF IDLING (FOR ENGINES 1,6 AND 1,8 L)

Prevention

Turns of idling of the engine are established by the manufacturer and at operation in normal conditions their adjustment is not required. However, if replacement of a chamber of a butterfly valve was made or there are suspicions that adjustment of turns of idling was broken (for example, the screw of idling was turned out from a chamber of a butterfly valve), the car should be handed over in service of car service, or in a specialized workshop.

Check

Connection of a tachometer to IG conclusion (–) the diagnostic socket

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Put the car on the emergency brake, establish a control lever of a check point in neutral provision (manual transmission) or in the situation Park (automatic transmission), block driving wheels. Connect a tachometer to IG conclusion (–) of the diagnostic socket (see rice. Connection of a tachometer to IG conclusion (–) the diagnostic socket). Start the engine and warm up up to the normal working temperature. Consider turns of idling and compare to standard value in subsection 5.1.
2. A crossing point close nakorotko conclusions of TE1 and E1 of the diagnostic socket.
3. Turns of idling have to increase from 1000 rpm to 1200 rpm within 5 seconds, and then decrease to the initial. If turns of idling raise and decrease as is stated above, the valve is serviceable. If the engine behaves differently, check resistance of the air valve.
4. Remove a crossing point.
5. Disconnect the valve socket.

6. Measure resistance between an average conclusion and each of two other conclusions. Compare valve resistance to the value specified in subsection 5.1. If resistance in norm, the valve is serviceable and it is necessary to check conducting or the control unit. If resistance differs from standard, replace the valve.

7. Connect the disconnected socket to the valve.

Replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a chamber of a butterfly valve.

Prevention

Access to the control air valve is complicated therefore for the correct installation of the new valve it is recommended to remove a chamber of a butterfly valve.

2. Unscrew screws and remove the valve with laying.
3. The valve is installed upside-down. Before assembly replace laying of the valve.

DISTRIBUTOR OF FUEL AND NOZZLE

Check

Execute checks of system of injection (see subsection 5.11).

Replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Execute a decompression of fuel system (see subsection 5.2).
2. Disconnect the battery from weight.
3. Disconnect a hose of system of ventilation of a case from a head of cylinders and the soaking-up collector.
4. On engines 1,6 and 1,8 of l uncover the soaking-up collector (see below items 1-10).
5. Apply accurately distinguishable tags on each socket of a nozzle. Disconnect sockets from nozzles and take conducting aside. On engines of 1,3 l turn off a bolt and disconnect conducting from a mixer rack. Turn off a nut and a bolt and remove a rack.
6. Disconnect a probe vacuum hose from the fuel distributor.
7. Disconnect fuel hoses from the regulator of pressure and the distributor.
8. Turn off bolts of fastening of the distributor of fuel (are specified by shooters).
9. Remove the distributor with nozzles.
10. Get from the distributor of a nozzle and put in c box an individual tag.
11. If nozzles do not change, replace rings (a photo at the left) and a sealant (a photo on the right).
12. Nozzles are established upside-down.
13. Tighten bolts of fastening of the distributor of fuel with the moment specified in subsection 5.1.

THE VALVE OF COMPENSATION OF TURNS OF IDLING AT TURNING ON OF THE CONDITIONER

Check
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Put the car on the emergency brake, establish a control lever of a check point in neutral provision (manual transmission) or in the situation Park (automatic transmission), block driving wheels. Connect a tachometer to IG conclusion (–) of the diagnostic socket (see rice. Connection of a tachometer to IG conclusion (–) the diagnostic socket). Start the engine and warm up before establishment of normal working temperature and turns of idling. Turn on the conditioner.
2. A crossing point close nakorotko conclusions of TE1 and E1 of the diagnostic socket.
3. Turns of idling have to increase from 1000 rpm to 1200 rpm within 3 seconds after a peremykaniye of conclusions, and then decrease to the initial. 15 seconds later again check idling turns, the number of turns has to exceed approximately on 100 rpm normal value. If turns of idling change as is described above, the valve is serviceable. If turns increase more than by 100 rpm, adjust the range of turns of idling, rotating the adjusting screw. If turns of the engine do not change or decrease, check compensation valve resistance.
4. Remove a crossing point.
5. Disconnect the socket from the valve.
6. Measure resistance between conclusions. Resistance has to be within 30–34 Ohms. If resistance in norm, the valve is serviceable and it is necessary to check conducting or the control unit. If resistance differs from standard, replace the valve (see below).
7. Give on conclusions tension from the battery and be convinced that air passes from the channel E in the channel F.

Prevention

The channel E is located above, and the channel F – lower.

8. Remove stress and be convinced that from the channel E in the channel F air does not pass.
9. If results of tests unsatisfactory, the valve replace.

Replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Unscrew screws of fastening and remove the valve with laying.
2. The valve is installed upside-down.
3. Before installation of the valve replace laying.
