At hit of antifreeze on skin or eyes immediately wash out a large amount of cold water. Antifreeze is very poisonous that does it dangerous at hit in a gullet. Do not leave antifreeze in an open vessel, or spilled on a floor in the form of pools. The children and animals attracted with a sweetish smell of antifreeze can drink or lick it. Concerning utilization of the fulfilled antifreeze consult in competent authorities. In many settlements there are points of collecting in which will take care of safe utilization of this liquid. It is forbidden to merge antifreeze to the earth or in the sewerage.
The cooling liquid which is filled in in system consists of mix of water and ethylene glycol, and has to provide a freezing point not above -25 °C, depending on local climate. Mix of these components has to possess also anticorrosive properties and higher boiling point.
Washing and replacement of liquid in the cooling system has to be made at least through each 60000 km of run, or 1 time in 2 years (see subsection 2.8.4). Change of liquid is more rare than 1 time in 2 years results in malfunction of the cooling system, formation of a rust and scum. If local water contains many mineral salts (is rigid), mix antifreeze with the distilled water.
Before filling of antifreeze check tightness of all connections as antifreeze possesses the increased fluidity and can get even through microopenings. Dolivka of antifreeze as a rule is not required. Therefore if liquid level in the cooling system constantly goes down, find the reason and eliminate.
The exact composition of mix depends on local climatic conditions. Mix has to contain not less than 50% of antifreeze, but no more than 70% of water. Before a dolivka of antifreeze determine its necessary concentration by the chart on container with antifreeze. The ratio of water and antifreeze can be measured by the areometer which is available on sale. Fill in antifreeze which meets requirements of the manufacturer of the car.
