4.9. Heater radiator

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

The considered cars are equipped with safety cushions. At any time at the connected battery the pillow (which has a rigid design) can be developed (to be inflated). To exclude casual operation of a pillow (and possible injuries) when performing any works near details of a safety cushion turn the ignition key in the situation LOCK and disconnect the battery from weight. After shutdown of the battery wait two minutes (necessary for a full discharge of the reserve condenser). More detailed description is provided in subsection 12.24.

To remove a heater radiator, the manufacturer recommends to dismantle all dashboard and a steering column. For this purpose it is required to disunite a large number of sockets therefore there is a potential danger of breakage of fragile plastic latches, clamps, etc. on various details. Application of this method in house conditions is inexpedient because of its complexity. The radiator can be removed and without dismantle of the dashboard. Below the corresponding procedures are described.


Below the order of removal of a radiator of a heater is in detail described. It is much simpler to remove a radiator after removal of the evaporator, however for this purpose it is necessary to depressurize previously the highway of central air and to remove coolant. Procedure of removal of the evaporator is described in subsection 4.14. Before starting depressurization of system surely study the prevention in subsection 5.2.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the battery from weight.
2. Merge cooling liquid (see subsection 2.8.4).
3. Working from a motor compartment, disconnect heater hoses on a partition of a motor compartment (are specified by an arrow). Push a rubber sealant on a partition of a motor compartment in salon, having disconnected sealant zakraina from edges of an opening in a partition.
4. Remove the central rack, a glove box, an overlay of a glove box, an ashtray, the receiver and front panels of the central rack.
5. Being guided by the description of subsection 4.10 remove the control panel the heater / conditioner.
6. Being guided by the description in subsection 5.11, remove the electronic control unit, without disconnecting sockets from the block. Take the control unit aside to provide sufficient working space under the heater radiator case.
7. Under the forward panel there are two racks of golden color which fasten to a body floor. It is necessary to turn off a fastening bolt (are specified by shooters) the left rack to a body floor, and also bolts of fastening of wires of connection with weight, but completely it is not necessary to remove it. Turn off bolts of fastening of the right rack and remove a rack from the car.

Prevention

From a reverse side of the plastic forward panel the rack fastens the screws self-tapping screws with a crosswise head screwed in plastic. For their otvorachivaniye use a crosswise screw-driver with a size of shlits precisely corresponding to the size of shlits of heads of screws. At an otvorachivaniye of screws densely press a screw-driver, having established it so that there was no distortion. Screws are wrapped densely therefore at the wrong otvorachivaniye of a head can be broken.


8. Turn off bolts of fastening and remove the channel of the central air duct.
9. Remove air duct section assembled with the delitelny gate which is directly over a radiator of a heater and it is a little displaced forward. It is necessary for expansion of working space about a heater.
10. Weaken an inhaling of nuts on hairpins of fastening of the left part of the case of the evaporator (see rice. Removal of the evaporator). The block of a heater fastens three hairpins to a partition of a motor compartment. Turn off a nut from a hairpin about the top lever of a pedal of management of a butterfly valve (it is specified by an arrow).
11. Turn off a nut and a hairpin in the right bottom corner of the case of a heater (are specified by an arrow).
12. Turn off the last nut in the right bottom corner of the case of a heater (are specified by an arrow).
13. After ears of fastening of the case of a heater descended from hairpins and the edge of the case of the evaporator of the conditioner stood aside, get a heater assembled from under the forward panel for what lower it down. Spread on a floor rug a large number of rags for absorption of the spilled cooling liquid.

Prevention

Work slowly, being careful not to damage plastic details at removal of a heater. The heater assembled can be removed as follows: at first pull a heater from a wall of a motor compartment so that ears descended from fastening hairpins, then displace a heater to the left that did not stir the evaporator case, lower down and remove from the car.


14. After removal of a heater from the car unscrew two screws, remove collars of fastening of tubes (are specified by shooters) a heater to the case.
15. Get a heater radiator from the case.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Installation is carried out upside-down.

Prevention

For reasons of conveyor assembly the design of nuts of fastening of the case of a heater and the evaporator to a partition of a motor compartment is calculated on their single use. Therefore before assembly it is necessary to get new nuts with a metric carving and spring washers.


2. Fill in liquid in the cooling system, start the engine, check existence of leaks and work of a heater.
