1. Disconnect a wire of the negative plug of the accumulator. |
Prevention
If the stereoplayer of your car has system of the coding, check, whether you know a code of activation of the player before an accumulator detachment.

2. If you plan to establish the same transmission back, simply remove a clip of fastening of a rope from an arm and disconnect a rope of a butterfly valve from the connecting mechanism on the case of a butterfly valve; if you are going to replace a transmission, disconnect a rope of a butterfly valve from the case of a butterfly valve (in both cases of cm. subsection 7.2.4). |
3. Remove the air filter (cm. subsection 5.9). |

4. Turn off the top bolts of the left fastening of a transmission (are specified by shooters). There are two more bolts, but it is impossible to reach them, without having lifted the car, they are located from below, in front. |

5. Disconnect a weight wire from a transmission (a photo the arrow specified a bolt which needs to be turned off). |
|
6. Disconnect the sockets of connection of the sensor of speed (it is specified by the right arrow), the switch blocking inclusion of a starter (see subsection 7.2.6) and the solenoid (only for an A240L model transmission) close to the switch blocking inclusion of a starter on a forward left corner of a transmission.

7. Release clips of wires on a transmission and take wires aside that they did not disturb at removal of a transmission. |

8. Turn off the top bolts (are specified by shooters) fastenings of a transmission to the engine. Turn off the top bolt of fastening of a starter to a transmission. |
9. Lift the car and install it on support. |
10. Remove filters from below of the engine. |
11. Disconnect the switching rope from a transmission (see subsection 7.2.5). |
12. Remove the section of an exhaust pipe located between a final collector and the catalytic converter (see subsection 5.13). |
13. Merge transmission liquid and, at removal of a three-speed transmission, merge differential oil. |
14. Remove half shafts (cm. subsection 8.3). |
Prevention
It is not necessary to remove half shafts completely; it is possible to disconnect internal hinges and to take them aside. However you will have more free space if you completely remove half shafts. Also, now there is an opportunity to examine covers of hinges on existence of wear tracks or damages and if it is necessary, to fill them with new greasing (see subsection 8.3).

15. Suspend the engine on hooks of the elevator or establish under it a jack, having put between a jack and a case the wooden block for distribution of loading. |

16. Turn off four forward bolts of a cross-piece of fastening (are specified by shooters a photo at the left) and three back nuts of fastening of a cross-piece (are specified by shooters a photo on the right). |

17. Turn off five bolts (are specified by shooters) on each of the parties of a cross-piece of a suspension bracket (on a photo the left side of a cross-piece of a suspension bracket is shown, the right side is identical). |
18. Disconnect wires from a starter, turn off the lower bolt of fastening of a starter to a transmission and remove a starter (see subsection 3.3.14). |

19. Turn off bolts (are specified by shooters) clips of tubes of cooling liquid. Remove clips of tubes of cooling liquid from a transmission, then disconnect tubes from a transmission. |
20. To disconnect a probe tube for measurement of level of transmission liquid from a transmission, turn off an arm bolt in front of a body partition, then pull for a tube up. |
21. Establish a jack under a transmission, it is desirable to use the jack which is specially intended for this purpose. Wind a transmission with chains in order that it stood on a jack more steadily. |

22. Turn off two remained fixing bolts from below of fastening of a transmission (are specified by shooters a photo at the left). Turn off bolts of forward and back fastenings (are specified by shooters a photo on the right) so that the engine could be inclined a little to the left for simplification of removal and installation of a transmission. |

23. Remove a hydrotransformer casing. Note the provision of installation of the hydrotransformer in relation to the conducted coupling disk in order that it could be established in the same situation in which it was before removal. Turn off six bolts of fastening of the hydrotransformer. Turn a cranked shaft for receiving access to each of bolts in turn. |

24. Turn off the lower bolts of fastening of a transmission to the engine: three lower bolts are shown on an illustration in item 22, and three other bolts are located on other party of the engine, is slightly lower than the lower bolt of fastening of a starter. Turn off the lower bolt (it is specified by an arrow) fastenings of a transmission to the engine on the forward party of a transmission. |
25. Take a transmission aside to remove it from adjusting pins of the engine. Check that the hydrotransformer separated from the conducted coupling disk. Fix the hydrotransformer in a transmission so that it did not drop out at its removal. Lower a transmission. |
