GENERAL INFORMATION

Marks for check of level of transmission liquid in the probe

1. Normal level (for cold liquid)
2. To add if level was checked on cold liquid
3. Normal level (for hot liquid)
4. To add if level was checked on hot liquid
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Liquid level in automatic transmission should be checked and supported systematically. Insufficient level of liquid involves pro-slipping of details of transmission and decrease in road performance of the car. At excess level there is a foaming which is followed by loss of liquid and an exit of transmission out of operation.
2. It is necessary to check liquid level in automatic transmission after warming up of liquid up to the working temperature. Liquid is considered the heated-up ambassador of a trip in the usual mode on distance 16 km (or 24 km at cold weather), and liquid temperature from 70 to 80 °C.
3. Install the car on an equal horizontal platform, tighten the emergency brake, start the engine and transfer to an operating mode idling. Press a pedal of a brake and translate the selector lever from situation P through all range of transfers to extreme situation and again return to situation P.
4. Get the control probe (it is specified by an arrow) from a tube which is directed from a transmission case towards a radiator (the engine continues to idle), both check the level of liquid and remember.
5. If level was checked on cold liquid, it has to be between the lower tags if liquid hot, level has to be between the top tags (see rice. Marks for check of level of transmission liquid in the probe).
6. Wipe the probe pure rags, again insert the probe into a tube against the stop.
7. Again get the probe and check liquid level. If level was checked on cold liquid, it has to be between tags of Cold or Cool if the level checked on hot liquid has to be between Hot tags. If level is near the lower tags, add liquid of the recommended brand through a funnel.
8. Add only necessary amount of liquid, without exceeding admissible level. To finish level from the lower mark to top about about 0,5 l of liquid are necessary (if liquid hot). Add liquid in very small portions, periodically checking level.
9. When checking level, check also a condition of liquid. If liquid of black or dark brown color, or extends a burned smell, it needs to be replaced. At a doubtful state buy a little new transmission liquid and compare with fulfilled on color and a smell.
