2.7.3. Check of fuel system

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. If during a driving or after a car parking under the sun the gasoline smell is felt, the fuel system needs urgent check.
	2. Turn off a stopper of a jellied mouth of a fuel tank and check on it existence of traces of corrosion and damage of laying. Get worn-out laying of a stopper of a fuel tank, having carefully hooked it a screw-driver, trying not to damage a stopper. On laying the accurate print of edge of a jellied mouth has to be observed. If on laying there are mechanical damages or traces of corrosion, replace laying.
3. Check existence of cracks on highways of supply of fuel and the return highway. Be convinced of durability of a conic threaded connection of a tube of the fuel highway to an injector and cap connections of the fuel "banjo" filter.
4. It is best of all to check fuel system when the car is raised by a telfer or installed on supports as some details of fuel system, for example the tank and part of the fuel highway, are from the bottom.
	5. Check, being under the car, a condition of a tank and a pipe of a mouth. Especially attentively examine connection of a mouth with a tank. Existence of punctures, cracks and mechanical damages is not allowed. Weakening of connection of a rubber pipe of a mouth or deterioration of a condition of rubber can sometimes be the cause of a leak. Such defects can be eliminated independently.
Prevention Do not repair a fuel tank independently at all (except for replacement of rubber details). Welding or the soldering leads to explosion of the vapors accumulating in a tank.
6. Carefully examine all rubber hoses and metal tubes departing from a tank. Check reliability of connections, existence on hoses of wear tracks, a perezhatiya and other damages. Carefully check a condition of the tubes connecting a tank to an injector. If necessary repair the damaged sites of the highway, or replace them (see subsection 5.6).
