GENERAL INFORMATION

Check

Approximately each six months, having lifted the car and having installed it on support, it is necessary to check the rubber hoses connecting steel brake tubes to lobbies and back brakes for existence of cracks, wear tracks, leak of brake fluid, swelling and other damages.

Rubber connecting tubes are important and part of brake system open to injury and their check has to be full and careful. The small lamp and a mirror will be useful to you when carrying out check. If on a hose are noticeable any of the above damages, replace it.

Replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Brake hoses of forward brakes
1. Turn off nuts of fastening of a wheel, lift the car and establish it on support. Remove a wheel.
2. Near an arm of a body turn off connection of a brake hose to a brake tube. When untwisting connection use a cap wrench not to break a connection side. If the arm bends, hold connection of a hose by means of a usual wrench.
3. Remove an U-shaped clip from the covering connection on an arm by means of flat-nose pliers, then get a hose through an opening in an arm.
4. On that end of a hose where it fastens to a support, turn off a bolt of a banjo and disconnect a hose from a support. Do not forget that on each side connections are two copper sealing washers – they need to be replaced at installation of a hose.
5. Remove an U-shaped clip from an arm of a rack of a suspension bracket and get a hose through an arm opening.
6. For installation of a hose stretch the end of a hose which fastens to a support through an arm opening on a suspension bracket rack, then connect a hose to a support, having twirled a bolt of a banjo and having established new sealing copper washers. Check that the opening of a hose was combined with a support opening, then tighten a banjo bolt till the demanded moment of an inhaling specified in the section of technical characteristics at the beginning of this chapter.
7. Establish fastening and an U-shaped clip on an arm. Check that the hose was not overwound on the way between a support and an arm of a rack of a suspension bracket.
8. Carry out a hose to an arm on a body frame, having checked that it was not overwound, connect it to a brake tube, having acquired a carving fingers. Establish an U-shaped clip, then reliably twirl connection.
9. Pump over brake system (see subsection 9.12).
10. Establish a wheel and acquire nuts of fastening of a wheel. Lower the car on the earth and tighten nuts till the demanded moment of an inhaling specified in the section of technical characteristics in the corresponding chapter.
Hose of back brakes
11. The hose of back brakes serves for connection of two metal brake tubes one of which fastens to a car body, and another to the back bridge. Both ends of a hose are connected to these metal tubes by means of threaded connections and U-shaped clips. When replacing a hose be guided by the instructions given above (see points 2, 3 and 4). Do not forget to pump over the working cylinder or a support of a back brake after replacement of a hose (see subsection 9.12).
Metal brake tubes
12. When replacing brake tubes do not use copper tubes. Get steel brake tubes.
13. Previously prepared brake tubes, with already established connections on the ends, it is possible to get on a car market or in autoshop. Often these tubes are already bent for giving of the demanded form to them.
14. At installation of a new brake tube check that it was reliably established in arms and between it and moving or hot elements there was a sufficient distance.

15. After completion of installation, check the level of brake fluid in a tank of the main cylinder and add brake fluid if it is necessary. Pump over brake system (see subsection 9.12). Carefully check work of brakes before normal operation of the car.
