3.1.1.2. Installation of the piston of the 1st cylinder in MW of a step of compression

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

At the description of an order of performance of procedure it is meant that the distributor of ignition is correctly installed in advance. In attempt to find VMT for the purpose of the correct installation of the distributor, it is necessary to check existence of a compression at the end of a piston stroke of the 1st cylinder through an opening for a candle then to combine ignition moment tags, being guided by item 8.


The Top Dead Point (TDP) is the highest end of the resources at which the piston is, making back and forth motion in the cylinder. Each piston reaches VMT – at the end of a step of compression and at production of exhaust gases twice, however VMT most often is meant as compression step VMT.

Installation of the piston (or pistons) in VMT of a step of compression is an integral part of many procedures, for example, removals of a gear belt and the conducted gear wheel or removal of the distributor of ignition.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before performance of procedure be convinced that the selector of transmission is installed in the situation "Neutral", put the car on the emergency brake, or block back wheels. Besides, completely exclude ignition operation for what disconnect a high-voltage wire of the coil of ignition from the central conclusion of a cover of the distributor and connect to weight on the block of cylinders by means of a crossing point. Turn out candles (see subsection 2.8.2).
2. For installation of any piston in VMT one of the ways provided below should turn the crankshaft. The normal direction of rotation of the engine - clockwise if to take a detached view of the engine of a gear belt.
3. It is preferable to rotate the crankshaft the face head dressed on a forward bolt of the crankshaft by means of the extender – a graggers. Effort to apply only in the direction clockwise. It is forbidden to rotate a bolt counterclockwise.
4. Ask the assistant to switch on and off quickly a starter and by that to install the piston in the situation close to VMT (thus it is not necessary to use the remote switch). Final dovorot the piston in VMT of a step of compression comes to the end, according to the previous point, a face head with a graggers. Previously ask the assistant to leave the car.
5. Find the provision of a high-voltage wire of a candle of the 1st cylinder on a distributor cover. If this conclusion is not numbered, determine it by a wire from a spark plug.
6. Put with a piece of chalk or a marker tags on the distributor case, directly under a conclusion of the 1st cylinder.
7. Uncover the distributor (if necessary see subsection 2.8.3) and put aside.

8. Turn the crankshaft before combination of a tag a pulley with figure "0" on a scale of the installation of the moment of ignition cast in forward part of the block of cylinders.
9. Check position of the distributor – the runner has to indicate the tag put on the distributor case. If orientation of the runner corresponds described, the piston of the 1st cylinder is in compression step VMT.
10. The lower bolts of fastening of a case of coupling to the block of cylinders.
11. If the runner specifies to the opposite side (situation differs on 180 °), the 1st cylinder is in release VMT.
12. To establish the piston of the 1st cylinder is in compression step VMT, turn the crankshaft on one complete revolution clockwise (360 °). Now the runner has to indicate the tag put on the distributor case. If the runner is turned towards a conclusion of a candle of the 1st cylinder and the tag of a pulley is combined with zero on a scale, the piston of the 1st cylinder is in compression step VMT.

Prevention

If the runner indicates the tag put on the distributor case, and tags on the crankshaft and on a scale are not combined, or the gear belt is incorrectly established, or teeths of a belt slip on gear wheels.


13. After installation of the piston of the first cylinder in VMT of a step of compression it is possible to expose in the same situation and other pistons, turning the crankshaft and observing an operating procedure of cylinders. On the case of the distributor put the tags corresponding to high-voltage conclusions of candles of other cylinders, in the same way as well as for the 1st cylinder, then number tags according to numbers of cylinders. At turn of the crankshaft the runner will rotate too. If the runner indicates a tag on the distributor, the piston of the corresponding cylinder will be in compression step VMT.
