1.6.21. Check of level of electrolyte


The car is completed as served, and unattended batteries. The last have a brand in the top part (Maintenance Free), care of such batteries is not required.

On the served batteries the level of electrolyte has to be between marks in the battery case.
Check level in all six sections of the battery. If level is lower than the lower mark, add the distilled water.

If the battery is equipped with the built-in areometer, be guided by indications of the areometer. The condition of the battery is determined by coloring of the areometer.

On unattended batteries the condition of the battery is controlled on the built-in areometer.

At a dolivaniye of the distilled water excess of level is not allowed.

Addition of the distilled water

1. Remove traffic jams.
2. Add the distilled water in those sections in which level is lowered.
3. If the battery wall opaque, a surface of a meniscus has to be on the edge of a section mouth (for check look from above, as shown in drawing: at the left – low level, on the right – normal).
