1.6.3. Methods of driving

GENERAL INFORMATION

At a strong side wind reduce the speed that will increase controllability.

Come around on borders or barriers slowly, it is desirable at right angle. Avoid arrivals on the acting sharp subjects and potholes. Otherwise the rupture of a tire is possible.

At a parking on a steep slope turn forward wheels against the stop in a border that will exclude the spontaneous movement by a setup. Put the car on the emergency brake and put the lever in situation P (on automatic transmission) or include the first transfer (on mechanical KP). If necessary substitute under block wheels.
At a wash of the car or at the movement on pools water can get to brakes. Check hit of water in brakes, having slightly pressed a pedal (having convinced of lack of transport). If weak braking, brakes wet is felt. To dry brakes, turn on the emergency brake and, moving at a small speed, slightly press a pedal. If work of brakes is not restored, it is necessary to move down on a roadside and to cause the technical help from service of car service.


Prevention

Before a start of motion be convinced that the car is removed from the emergency brake and the control lamp went out.

Do not leave the car with the working engine without supervision.

During the movement do not hold a foot on a brake pedal, otherwise there is an overheat and wear of brakes, profitability falls.

At the long movement under a bias or at congress from steep slopes reduce speed and include a low gear.

Keep in mind that at too frequent use of brakes there is their overheat and efficiency of braking falls.

At a driving on the slippery road be careful at dispersal, inclusion of the raised or low gear and when braking.

Sudden dispersal or braking by the engine can lead to drift of the car.

The movement with wet brakes as the brake way increases is not allowed and uniformity of braking is broken. Besides, the emergency brake will not hold the car.

Avoid the movement on big pools. Penetration of a large amount of water into a motor compartment will lead to an exit of the engine and (or) electric equipment out of operation.


Features of driving of cars with a wheel formula 4х4

Tires of all wheels have to be identical type and the size.

Pressure in tires has to meet standard (see subsection 2.1).

For preservation of efficiency of the all-wheel drive wear of tires of all wheels has to be uniform.

Periodically rearrange wheels (cm. subsection 2.6.7).

For increase of passability at the movement on dirt, sand or snow on forward wheels dress chains.

Right after overcoming of the almost impassable road (dirt, waters, etc.) check work of brakes.

At a driving under trying conditions it is necessary to reduce terms of periodic service.

Features of driving in winter conditions

The cooling system has to be filled with antifreeze on the basis of ethylene glycol.


Prevention

It is forbidden to apply antifreeze on a spirit basis.


Check a condition of the battery and power cables.

At a low temperature the capacity of the battery goes down. Therefore for start-up of the engine in winter conditions the battery has to be completely loaded and serviceable.

Be convinced that viscosity of oil in the engine corresponds to an operation season.

Application of summer brands of oil with the increased viscosity complicates start-up of the engine. Consult in service of car service concerning an oil brand choice for a winter season.

Take measures against frosting of locks of doors. For this purpose dig in wells special means against frosting of locks or glycerin. Before unlocking of a door heat a key.

In a tank of windscreen washer fill in the liquid containing special antifreeze. It is not allowed to use for washing of glasses antifreeze from the cooling system of the engine which destroys coloring of a body.

At frosts do not put the car on the emergency brake.

At a parking include the first transfer or transfer the lever to situation P (on automatic transmission). When freezing of the got moisture the mechanism of the emergency brake can not release a wheel.

Do not allow a congestion under wings of snow and ice which complicate turn of wheels. At a driving in snow weather occasionally stop and check a snow congestion under wings.

At a driving it is under trying conditions recommended to carry with itself certain accessories in the winter: chains, a shovel for snow, a sack with sand or salt, alarm rockets, starting cables, etc.
