GENERAL INFORMATION

Elements of an arm of a nave, nave and the bearing, nave of a back wheel (model with drum brakes)

1. Sensor of speed of rotation of a wheel of system of AVS
2. Arm of a nave of a back wheel
3. Sealing ring
4. Nave of a back wheel
5. Brake drum
6. Nave bolt
7. Models without AVS
8. Bearing
9. Nave of a back wheel
10. Guard of a back brake
11. Brake hose
12. Clip

Prevention

The dust formed as a result of wear of brake shoes contains the asbestos hazardous to health. It is forbidden to use solvents on the basis of gasoline for cleaning of the mechanism of brakes. Use only a special cleaner for the mechanism of brakes.

In view of need of use of the special equipment and tools for replacement of the bearing, the nave and the bearing independently is not recommended to be sorted. You can independently remove a nave with the bearing and send them to auto repair shop for replacement of the bearing.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Turn off nuts of fastening of a wheel, lift the car and stanovit it on support. Remove a wheel.
2. Remove the brake drum from a nave (on models with back drum brakes) (see subsection 9.8) or remove a brake disk (see subsection 9.7) and a brake support (on models with back disk brakes) (see subsection 9.6).
3. Turn off four bolts of fastening of a nave to a nave arm access to which can be got through a big opening in a nave, rotating a nave flange (turn a flange and combine a big opening on a flange with each of bolts in turn).
4. Remove a nave together with the bearing, having got them via the mechanism of brakes.
5. On models on which there is no system of anti-blocking of brakes, the nave of a back wheel can be removed from the bearing for its replacement. In view of need of use of special tools for performance of this operation, the nave and the bearing need to be given to auto repair shop to squeeze out the old bearing of a nave and to establish new (you can use an old nave, it in a good shape so far). Check that the fixing nut of a nave was tightened till the demanded inhaling moment (see subsection 10.1). On models with system of anti-blocking of brakes, the nave and the bearing need to be replaced together.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Turn off nuts of fastening of a wheel, lift the car and stanovit it on support. Remove a wheel.
2. Oil a new sealing ring and establish it on an external circle of the acting rim on a guard of a back brake.
3. Do not lower a sealing ring down a rim to the guard – when you establish a nave and the bearing, the sealing ring will get to the flute on an internal surface of the central opening of a nave at twisting of fixing bolts.
4. Establish a nave and the bearing on an arm of a nave and combine openings in a nave with openings on a guard of a back brake. Insert bolts. For installation of bolts in openings it is possible to use a magnet. After installation of all four bolts, tighten them till the demanded moment of an inhaling specified in the section of technical characteristics at the beginning of this chapter.
5. Install the brake drum or a brake disk and a support, then establish a wheel. Lower the car on the earth and tighten nuts of fastening of the wheel until an inhaling specified in the section of technical characteristics in the corresponding chapter.
